Surge Arrester are power grid elements that protect the system from voltage transients. Because the surge arresters need to operate in transient and aggressive conditions, it is important for them to be properly tested and designed.  

Power View Surge Arrester Working Groups takes part in researching and developing test and monitoring methods, design and maintenance practices, grid positioning, sharing test and research results, providing technical guidance and support. The group mostly participates in the following areas:

• Spectral Leakage Current Analysis
